PASTORAL COUNCIL MINUTES (UNAPPROVED)
MAY 19, 2022
Meeting started at 7:31 with Fr Jose leading us in prayer.
Members present: Horst Hanneken, Deb Woitalla, Doug Knopik, Dave Schubert, Jeff Thommes, Fr. Jose, Dave Skwira, Bernie Hoffman, Russ Woitalla, and Yvonne Kisor.
Bernie made a motion, seconded by Jeff to approve the minutes of the March 17 minutes
with the following correction: Leonard, Teresa, their kids and grandkids changed all the lights in the church not just the basement lights. Sorry. Motion carried.
Jeff made a motion, seconded by Dave Skwira to approve the financial report. Motion carried.
Jeff made a motion, seconded by Bernie to contract Digital Horizons from Brainerd to update the entire sound system in the church, upstairs, downstairs and choir at the cost of approximately $16,000.00. Motion carried.
Deb made a motion, seconded by Jeff to reduce our payment to Holy Trinity by half being we are only allowed half the representation. Motion carried.
The council talked about Seminarian Sponsorship. We would like to see the scholarship application and get a little more information. This has been tabled for now.
Russ made a motion, seconded by Jeff to raise the price of bazaar dinner tickets. Prices will be $14 for adults, $7 for ages 6 – 12, 5 and under will be free. Motion carried.
Horst will arrange for bazaar and fall spraying for insects.
Deb made a motion, seconded by Dave Skwira to amend #8 of the Cemetery rules and regulations to read: Management reserves the right to levy an additional fee for burial of the second set of remains, which is currently set at 50% of the price of a grave site. Motion carried.
Jim Bieganek donated a quilt which council had decided to put on the silent auction at the bazaar.
Bernie has requested a new popcorn machine. The Holy Name Society and the Rosary Sodality have both agreed to donate 1/3 each of the price with the parish paying the remaining 1/3.
We would like to thank Horst and Russ for their excellent job on the council.
Bernie made a motion, seconded by Jeff to adjourn the meeting at 9:12. Motion carried.
