Holy Cross Parish Council minutes from January 18, 2024
The Holy Cross parish council met on January 18, 2024 at 6:00 PM in the Buckman.
The meeting started with a prayer led by Fr Aaron.
Council members preset were Jeff Thomas, Doug Knopik, Yovonne Kisor-Boser, Andy Woitalla, Leroy Woitalla, Dave Schubert, and Bernie Hoffman.
Welcome back Doug Knopik, he will back on the council for his term.
The council reviewed finances.
Andy Woitalla presented an estimate which was reviewed by members for a 30×40 building that may be constructed for use during the bazaar. Fr Aaron is checking with the diocese regarding the need for possible approval from them to construct a building.
There was discussion of cemetery lots & prices were compared, the council tabled this until next meeting.
Andy Woitalla presented a bid on insulating the back wall of the alter. Leroy Woitalla made a motion to accept the bid & move forward with the project. Jeff Thomas seconded the motion, motion passed.
There was a donation which was marked for installation of an exhaust fan above the hamburger stand in the Morton building. Bernie Hoffman made a motion to have the fan installed with Dave Schubert overseeing the project. Andy Woitalla seconded the motion, motion passed.
There will be a State of the School address at Holy Trinity on February 21, 2024 at 6:00 PM the public is encouraged to attend.
Dave Schubert is speaking to someone regarding the stove in the church basement & possibly fixing it.
Fuel was delivered in December.
There will be a food shelf drive in March, more details will be available once it gets closer.
There was a request to possibly have confession in Harding prior to mass. Father Aaron will make an announcement regarding this & times of confession.
Jeff Thomas is checking on estimates to re-roof the sacristy.
The meeting ended at 7:15 PM with a brief prayer led by Fr Aaron.
Next meeting will be held in April with date, time & place to be determined.
