PASTORAL COUNCIL MINUTES (UNAPPROVED)
APRIL 27, 2023
Meeting started with prayer at 7:35.
Members present: Jeff Thomas, Dave Skwira, Dave Schubert, Deb Woitalla, Doug Knopik, Fr Jose, and Yvonne Kisor.
Deb made a motion, seconded by Jeff, to approve the minutes from the January 19th meeting. Motion carried.
Dave Schubert made a motion, seconded by Yvonne, to accept the treasurers report. Motion carried.
The work on the sacristy roof and ceiling tile was tabled for now.
Council reviewed estimates from Tykes and Todd Smude Flooring LLC. We will view samples at our next meeting.
The insulation project on the north wall was tabled.
Parish elections will be on May 21. Nominations will be accepted May 7 and 14th.
Denise Young and Jeff Thomas’s terms are up and both can be re-elected. Sara Carmona’s term is up for Holy Trinity and she cannot be re-elected. Sheila Rudolph and Chad Thesing’s terms are up for the Fr. Pierz board. Sheila cannot be re-elected and Chad can be re-elected. Deb Woitalla and Delores Young will handle the elections.
There are headstones in the cemetery that need to be straightened. Work will probably be done in June. Council will discuss again at the May meeting. Council will be looking for volunteers to paint and clean the statues in the cemetery.
It was suggested we should have some kind of canopy or overhang by the west door to prevent the snow from falling on a parishioner or guest. This was tabled.
The Harding Days Rodeo committee requested use of the parking area north of the cemetery. Council agreed if the committee agrees to repair any damages.
Next meeting will be May 18.
